Go back in time to the founding of Portugal, when the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, was crowned and visit the city where the Portuguese Courts met and established the laws to regulate Portugal's dynastic succession.

Start your visit to the city in the lower part of the city, visiting the Lamego Cathedral and appreciate its fabulous Gothic-medieval architecture. From here you can appreciate the traditional 18th century architecture in the various monuments located here, as well as experience the daily life of the local inhabitants, whilst strolling along the main avenue.

Then, head to the historic center, where you can visit Lamego Castle, strolling through the small medieval streets, going down to the famous Almacave church, where the Cortes de Lamego met.

Then head to the city's ex-libris: the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, appreciating the majestic Church and Staircase that portray the life of the Virgin Mary.

Before finishing the tour, enjoy a tasting of the famous local sparkling wine.
